— 01 Sustainability

Built for forty years
from now.

Sustainability is structural, not decorative. Every Florence Homes build is engineered to perform for the next forty years without compromise — passive solar orientation, double-glazed envelopes, photovoltaic arrays and solar-thermal hot water designed in from day one. We don't tick the box. We specify the system.

— 02 Technical commitments

Six systems,
engineered in.

Standard on every custom build. Specifications are tuned to climate zone, orientation and the way the home will actually be used.

Passive solar orientation

Building axis, eave depth and glazing area calibrated to the WA solar path — winter sun in, summer sun out.

Aligned within ±5° of true north

Double glazing

Argon-filled low-e units on all habitable rooms — typically halving the heat loss of single-glazed windows.

U-value ≤ 1.6 · SHGC tuned per elevation

Insulation

Full-perimeter insulation: walls, ceiling, suspended floors. Air-sealing detailed at every penetration.

R5.0 ceiling · R2.7 walls minimum

Photovoltaic systems

Roof-mounted PV sized to cover annual self-consumption. Tier-1 panels, hybrid inverter and battery-ready.

8–12 kWp typical · CEC accredited install

Solar-thermal hot water

Roof-mounted thermal collectors with gas or heat-pump backup. Hot water for the household from sunlight.

315L tank · 4–5 kWh/day yield

Material sourcing

Local stone, timber, brick and joinery. Every material has a traceable origin within 400 km where feasible.

≥ 80% materials sourced from WA
