Three generations.
One craft.
The Florence Homes story begins in a stone-mason's workshop in Italy in the 1950s and runs through three generations of the Ibba family — patient, exacting work, passed from one hand to the next. In the early 1990s Ignazio Ibba brought the practice to Western Australia, and we have been designing, building and restoring homes here ever since.
From Italy
to Australia.
Five generations of building knowledge — refined into a practice that operates today across Perth and a growing list of overseas projects.
The workshop in Sardinia
The Ibba family begins building in a small Italian village — masonry, joinery and stone, taught one apprentice at a time.
Ignazio Ibba relocates the practice
The family business is brought to Western Australia. The first homes are completed in the Perth metropolitan area within two years.
Building Licence BC103915 issued
Florence Homes Group is formally registered as a residential builder under the WA Building Commission.
Heritage & sustainable design added
The practice expands into heritage restoration and sustainable design — passive solar, PV systems and material-conscious specification.
A growing WA portfolio
Custom homes across the metropolitan area, regional WA and select overseas projects — currently building four homes concurrently.
A multi-generational team
A small senior team of architects, builders and craftspeople. The third generation of the Ibba family on site and on the drawing board.
"A home has its own identity — and a place in the lives of the people who live there. We design and build to honour both."
People who build with us.
A small senior team — architects, builders, project managers and craftspeople — on every project, end to end. No outsourced project management.
Ignazio Ibba
Second-generation builder; relocated the family practice from Italy to WA in 1992.
Marco Ibba
Third generation. Site lead on custom builds and extensions; HIA-registered.
Chiara Russo
Architectural lead on custom homes — sustainable specification, council approvals, documentation.
Daniel Marsh
Day-to-day project lead, trade scheduling and client communication across all live builds.
Elena Bianchi
Material, finish and joinery selection. Coordinates with architects on tactile detail.
James Trent
Restoration of heritage-listed homes — period joinery, masonry repair and council heritage approvals.
Architects, designers,
trades we work with.
For every project we draw from a vetted network of architects, interior designers, structural engineers and master tradespeople — chosen for craft, not convenience.
